Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences growing in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the events of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the party access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Seekers and Planners parties.
